The weakness of Traditional Access Control
Previously, access control in some buildings relied on security personnel manually approving or denying access at key entrances. Today, modern access control is digitized, visitor can use NFC/ BLE mobile credentials, QR code, keypad, and RFID cards to verify authorization instead of traditional physical keys. Especially, Mobile access provides visitor with a easy and high secure way to access controlled areas without the need for a physical access card or key.
The traditional mechanical lock and key system is the simplest form of building access control. It is not only without the highest level of security, but also easy to pick up by the lock, stolen items occur, especially for some large enterprises or commercial buildings. Traditional access control can not ensure basic security, there may be data theft, from the clone of the key card to a comprehensive network attack, which not only endanger personal safety but also endanger the security of the entire enterprise. Once intruders have compromised your access control system, they can enter restricted areas, disable alarms, change permissions, and steal proprietary sensitive information.
Multi-technology Security Card Reader
1. NFC/ BLE Mobile Credential Access
Cidron security card reader allows visitors to use their mobile devices to gain access by holding them up to a reader or using a mobile app to unlock doors. Mobile access control eliminates the need for traditional access cards or fobs, providing a more convenient and secure way to access facilities or specific areas. Cidron Family Reader is compliant to encrypted BLE and NFC technologies for access control by mobile credential.
2. QR code Mobile Credential
Cidron Family Reader allows visitor to display QR codes and barcodes on their mobile phones or print them on paper and badges for scanning authentication. Cidron reader reads QR code mobile credential and sends it to the controller for identification. The controller identifies QR code to control the door lock. Mobile-based QR code access method is ideal for temporary visitors to gain authorized access. If dynamic code is not used within a certain period of time, it will become invalid. Administrator provides a new dynamic code to authorized visitors to access.
3. Proximity RFID Card Access Control
Cidron security card reader supports dual frequency 13.56MHz & 125KHz RFID technologies such as MIFARE, MIFARE Plus, DESFire EV1/EV2/EV3 allowing for AES data encryption. The visitor simply needs to swipe their RFID card or fob on reader to gain access.
4. Keypad Access Control
Cidron Family Reader allow the user to input a unique code or PIN code on keyboard to gain access. Keypad access control is a cost-effective and easy-to-use option for organizations looking to improve their physical security.
5. Multi-factor Authentication
For high-security areas, Cidron Family Reader allows for Multi-factor authentication across our entire organization or government agency, and the encrypted RFID card provides the first level of access, and Pin code verification provides the second. Multi-factor authentication to safeguard sensitive government data, ensuring compliance with regulations and preventing unauthorized access.
6. Time and Role-based Access
The traditional key access control method can be shared or lent by others at any time, and someone can enter and exit the building, which brings security risks to the building facilities. Mobile-based access control reader, with entry rights easily configurable for different users and different spaces. Admins can set customized schedules when specific staffer or visitor can access the restricted areas. For instance, contractor groups, such as repair workers, can get access once a month, a babysitter can get in from 8 am to 10 pm, and the cleaner can be authorized to enter on Tuesdays only.
Secure Encryption technology
1. Secure Access Module with EAL5+
Cidron Family Reader features SAM AV1/AV2 technology to read secure Access Module (SAMs) with EAL5+ security level.
2. Wiegand & RS485 Communication Interface
Cidron Family Reader supports Wiegand (24-1024 bit) or RS485 universal interface to work with the 3rd controller and synchronizes data to Cloud/PC in real time via the controller to build IoT security access control solution.
3. Standard Communications using OSDP Protocol
Cidron Family Reader uses the Open Monitor Device protocol, which enables AES encryption for communication between the reader and the controller. This feature called "Secure Channel" is available to Cidron readers to improve security by encrypting transmitted data.
